Kate’s balance of academic and practical industry experience, united with a passion for universal storytelling through image and sound, gives her a deep insight into the many dimensions of the film, television and new media industries.
After completing her Masters in 2009, Kate was a sessional academic at Queensland University of Technology and JMC Academy for two years, delivering practical and academic subjects within their Film and Television departments. This experience enriched Kate’s passion for supporting young artists in developing their creative ideas and endeavours. Kate is a warm, insightful and encouraging communicator, trainer and director and delights in supporting students. These two years were deeply valuable and now Kate revels in representing her clients in the most compelling and dynamic light through image and sound while continuing to support and connect.
For the last year, while operating IMP, Kate has also been a co-founder and a venue manager of Contortionist Studios, an exciting new collaborative venue and arts warehouse in Woolloongabba. The experience of collaborating with like minded creatives to start a venue/arts space from scratch has enhanced her management, communication and development skills. Having now moved to Sydney to further grow and develop IMP, Kate continues to be in contact and collaboration with the studio and commutes between Brisbane and Sydney to curate events.

Kate began Independent Media Productions almost a year ago. She produces and directs live music videos, documentaries, short films, live events and advertisements for a wide range of artists and businesses. Kate is driven to suppor creators and visionaries in developing their message and image, and to helping their product and/or business grow and flourish.
